And Rapide Premium Service should be performed every 20,000kms. starting when your odometer reading hits 10,000kms.

Each level includes all the services  you’ll need to get your car to the next level and in the best possible shape.

“Budgeting for and doing preventive maintenance on your car is one of the best ways to cut your costs and keep your car operating at it’s best.”

If you look after your car, it will look after you – with lower repair and maintenance costs, higher resale value and a longer life.

Suspension

“Your Car is not a toy. But we can make sure you still have fun driving it”

SUSPENSION SYSTEM BASICS:
When it comes to absorbing the shocks of the road, you’d think the shock absorbers would take care of everything. But you’d only be half right. Actually, your coil spring handle the abuse of the road. Your shock absorbers handle the abuse caused by the rebound of the springs. They both work together to keep your vehicle under control. And those two components – plus a variety of shafts, rods, arms, joints and knuckles- comprise what’s commonly called a conventional suspension.

TAKING CARE OF YOUR SUSPENSION
Your car’s alignment affects your entire suspension system because it determines the angles and positioning of each tire. And if your alignment’s out of whack it could cause a ton of problems. Below, you’ll find a list of some of the most common symptoms of poor alignment.

  • Excessive Tire Wear
  • Squealing Tires
  • An off-center steering wheel
  • Steering that pulls to one side
  • Unexpected changes in direction after bumps

Problems with your steering occur gradually so pay attention to small changes in the way your car handles, especially when you turn the wheel. Here are the most common warning signs.

WHAT IS THAT GROWLING NOISE?
If your steering growls when you turn the wheel, your power steering fluid may be low. You may have a leak in the power steering system.

WHAT IS THAT BUZZING?
If your steering buzzes when you turn at low speeds, it may be caused by low power steering fluid.

WHAT IS THAT SQUEALING?
If you hear a high-pitched squeal, your drive belt is probably slipping on the power steering unit.

WHAT IS THAT MOANING?
If you hear a moaning noise when you turn the wheel, your power steering pump may be about to fail.

WHY IS IT DIFFICULT TO STEER?
If you have too much play or looseness in the steering, it may indicate worn parts.

WHY IS MY STEERING PULLING TO THE LEFT OR RIGHT?
Your suspension may be out of alignment. Unequal tire pressure may also be the cause.

WHY IS THE STEERING WOBBLING?
Your tires could be the problem. Check to see that your tire pressures are the same and inspect your tires for any damage. If you feel vibrations through the steering wheel, a tire may be out of balance.

WHY IS THE STEERING WHEEL SUDDENLY HEAVY?
If it takes more effort to turn the wheel, you may have lost your power steering belt or run out of power steering fluid.

If you notice any of these warning signs, speak to your Rapide Specialist immediately.

HOW DO I LOOK AFTER MY STEERING?
Outside of your scheduled maintenance visits, you should check your power steering fluid once a month.

There is a dipstick in the cap of the power steering reservoir. Check to see if the fluid is within the correct range. If you have to add fluid more than once a year, you have a leak.

Air Conditioning

Your air-conditioning is a complex system, responsible for keeping you cool and comfortable. The system works much like a refrigerator. A compressor pumps liquid refrigerant (often called “freon”) through the evaporator located under the dashboard. Here, the liquid refrigerant changes to a vapor as it absorbs heat in the passenger compartment. This hot vapor is then circulated to the condenser, where it changes back into a liquid as it releases heat through the front grille.

This process is continual, so the refrigerant is constantly cycling from liquid to vapor and back to liquid again. In this way, heat is carried away from the vehicle’s interior leaving you with a cooler driving environment.

AIR CONDITIONING BASICS:
Your air-conditioning system consists  of four major parts, whih provide cooling for the passenger compartment. The industry generally has two different system designs. These designs are identified as expansion valve ororifice tube type.

  • The compressor, mounted on the engine, is the pump that circulates the refrigerant through the system, transferring the heat from the passenger compartment to the outside air. The compressor is the most important and expensive component of the air conditioning system.
  • The condenser transfers heat removed from the passenger compartment to the outside air. It is located in front of the radiator, just behind the front grille of the vehicle.
  • The evaporator, located near the dash board or firewall, transfers the passenger compartment heat to the refrigerant, so it can be sent to the condenser, removing heat “cools” the passenger compartment.
  • The dryer absorbs any excess moisture from the refrigerant.
  • Flexible hoses transfer the refrigerant both to and from the engine-mounted compressor and to the other system parts that are mounted on the vehicle body. The flexible hoses can be a major source of refrigerant leakage. The system also has many connections that require rubber seals that should be frequently checked for leaks.

REPAIRING YOUR AIRCONDITIONING SYSTEM
Before having your airconditioning repaired, it is important for you to communicate your complaints clearly, and to tell your Rapide technician if anyone else has recently worked on the system. Then, the technician will inspect your system, following these steps:

  • First, your technician will start the engine and check the blower and vent operation.
  • If all controls are working properly, the airconditioning will be set to maximum air with the fan on high, to determine the temperature of air through existing vents.
  • The technician will run a performance test on the high and low pressure portions of the system.
  • Next, the technician will perform a complete visual inspection of the system. This includes checking the condition of belts and hoses, making sure service port caps are screwed into place properly, and looking for oil stains or caked-on dirt along all exposed parts and hoses.
  • The technician will leak test the entire system.
  • Finally, the technician will check the condenser and radiator to make sure the leaves, debris, or dead insects aren’t reducing air flow over the condenser coils.

Brakes

“Your Car gets you where you’re going.. We’ll help you stop when you get there”

RAPIDE BRAKE SERVICE
THE ONLY LIFETIME WARRANTY IN THE PHILIPPINES

Rapide Premium brake replacement parts are designed to meet—and in many cases, exceed—the performance of the equipment that originally came with your car. Vehicle-Specific Design (VSD) makes them fit better, stop faster and last longer than other replacement pads. And they’re quieter, too. But best of all, they carry a lifetime guarantee. Even if they wear out from normal wear and tear, we’ll provide you with new ones at no charge for as long as you own your car.

We rely on our brakes to keep us out of trouble. Yet most of us know relatively little about how to look after them and how to recognize that they need attention. Here are some warning signs.

WHAT IS THAT SQUEAL?
If you hear a high-pitched noise while you are driving and without applying your brakes, it is usually a sign that your brake pads are worn down and need replacing.

WHAT IS THAT GRINDING SOUND?
A metal-on-metal grinding sound usually means your brake pads are completely worn. This will damage your drums or rotors and markedly reduce braking effectiveness.

WHY IS MY VEHICLE PULLING TO ONE SIDE?
If your brake linings are worn or uneven, it can cause your car to pull to either the right or the left when you brake.

WHY DO I HAVE TO PUMP MY BRAKES?
If you have to pump your brakes to stop your car, there could be a number of reasons. There may be a leak in the brake system, air in the brake lines or you may need a brake adjustment.

WHY IS MY WARNING LIGHT ON?
If your brake system warning light on, you possibly have a hydraulic system malfunction. If your ABS light is on, the anti-lock system is not functioning.

If you notice any of these warning signs if you have any other concern about your brakes, contact your Rapide Specialist immediately.

HOW CAN I LOOK AFTER MY BRAKES?
You should check your fluid once every month. Look for the brake master cylinder behind the steering wheel. You should be able to see the fluid level through the transparent tank. Brake fluid depletes very gradually, so if you notice a sharp drop, get your brake system      checked.

Brakes are a normal wear item for any car, so sooner or later they’re going to need replacement.
